Webarchitects Co-operative #

Webarchitects is a multi-stakeholder co-operative that clients, partners and investors can join.

Being a co-operative is very important to Webarchitects. We support the wider co-operative movement because we believe that co-operative ways of working and living are superior to the destructive competitiveness of capitalism.

Providing a comprehensive portfolio of Internet technology is not what makes Webarchitects special — it's the Webarchitects focus on what's important.

  • A limited liability company is formed for profit, so its duty is to focus on money.
  • A multi-stakeholder co-operative is formed for mutual benefit, so its focus is on social responsibility.

Being a co-op enables Webarchitects to provide open, clear pricing. Income is essential to Webarchitects, but the focus is not on profit margins — it's on building trust with its customers by providing high quality Internet services. Marketing costs, 'magic' discounts and 'loss leaders' are not included.

The 'worker co-operative' status of Webarchitects makes it more appealing to like-minded organizations — many not-for-profit groups such as ESSU, the Regather Trading Co-operative and Transition Network are long-standing customers.

Of course we are also happy to work with companies, groups and individuals which are not co-operatives, but which share our values of socially responsibility.
